[14:31]<@Mulreay> So my laptops running really slow, start ser
[14:31]<@Mulreay> oops
[14:32]<+camerongray> Ah
[14:32]<+camerongray> New motherboard has been dispatched!
[14:32]<+camerongray> Not sure if I told you about my bargain
[14:32]<@Mulreay> looked around for ages to find the problem and then checked on 'uptime' 15 days ahhh shutdown restart working fine again :p
[14:33]<+camerongray> lol
[14:33]<@Mulreay> Yeah, I read that in channel nice find
[14:33]<+camerongray> Yeah
[14:33]<+camerongray> Calum told be how to OC it
[14:33]<+camerongray> That man is a genius!
[14:33]<@Mulreay> heh
[14:35]<@Mulreay> So your hackintosh is coming along then
[14:35]<+camerongray> Indeed
[14:35]<+camerongray> Now need to decide what to do with my 8150
[14:35]<+camerongray> Might get another decent PSU and use it as a server or dedicated windows box
[14:36]<@Mulreay> 8150? sorry never been any good with serials...
[14:36]<+camerongray> AMD Bulldozer 8-Core
[14:36]<@Mulreay> ahh cool
[14:36]<@Mulreay> Want to sell it?
[14:36]<+camerongray> Hmm - Probably use it in my server TBH
[14:36]<@Mulreay> k
[14:36]<+camerongray> No motherboard in there :P
[14:37]<@Mulreay> I'm gonna be ordering my stuff starting the end of May
[14:37]<+camerongray> Cool
[14:37]<+camerongray> If you remind me then I'll see if I've actually done anything with it yet
[14:37]<@Mulreay> cool
[14:37]<+camerongray> If not I'd be happy to sell it
[14:38]<@Mulreay> no biggy, still not sure on the build yet anyway
[14:38]<+camerongray> Ahh
[14:39]<+camerongray> The 8150 is very good but I think the 2500k would be better for gaming
[14:40]<@Mulreay> To be fair gaming on the PC has taken a bit of a step back.. only because I was thinking 'I have a PS3 for that.. still needs to be decent though
[14:40]<+camerongray> Ahh
[14:40]<+camerongray> I'd then say 2500k
[14:41]<+camerongray> Use the onboard graphics
[14:41]<+camerongray> Can do minecraft and basic stuff
[14:41]<+camerongray> Then spend money on a really nice SSD
[14:41]<+camerongray> Or even a pair in RAID 0 - That would FLY!
[14:42]<@Mulreay> It would need to be able to play some of the higher end games as I want to do lots of lets plays so will need some grunt
[14:42]<+camerongray> Ahh
[14:42]<+camerongray> 560ti would be good
[14:42]<+camerongray> I'd still say 2500k
[14:42]<+camerongray> This new CPU is going to rock!
[14:43]<+camerongray> The Quad-Core Mac Pro has the Xeon equivalent of the i7 930 which is only 133mHz faster than the 920 which I bought
[14:43]<@Mulreay> When it gets to the time if you don't mind one night when were both on may be have a chat on here and I will order stuf as we chat
[14:43]<+camerongray> Overclock the 920 to 4.0gHz and BOOM! Better than a mac pro
[14:43]<+camerongray> Sounds good
[14:45]<@Mulreay> I'll have about ?900 don't want to spend more than ?800 really and would like to spend may be ?6-700
[14:45]<@Mulreay> And I have the case
[14:45]<+camerongray> Cool
[14:45]<+camerongray> 2500k is definitely your best bet
[14:45]<@Mulreay> cool
[14:47]<@Mulreay> How would that effect prices for MB's and the such?
[14:47]<+camerongray> Same price as all intel boards
[14:47]<+camerongray> Except for the very high end 2011 and 1366
[14:48]<@Mulreay> I was going AMD last time is what I meant
[14:48]<+camerongray> Ahh
[14:48]<+camerongray> Similar to AMD
[14:48]<@Mulreay> cool
[14:48]<+camerongray> Make sure you get a Z68 chipset, intel lock the multiplier on the H61 and H68 which pretty much blocks overclocking
[14:49]<@Mulreay> k cool, you will have to remind me of that
[14:50]<+camerongray> yeah
[15:02] * camerongray (camerongra@5140B13A.2B27862B.AF326668.IP) Quit (Connection reset by peer)
[15:08]<@Mulreay> I would like to suggest that you never bang a 2ltr bottle of water down on a plug... just had to run around my bedroom with towels, clothes and bed sheets trying to catch it all... not helped by the fact that I ran out of my room with the bottle towards the bathroom and the dog was napping on the landing.. she's now wet through and I then had to throw more clothes over the landing to sort
[15:08]<@Mulreay> out that water... Then realised just how many electronic things I have on my wooden floor had to race back in and start mopping. OK worst experience with a bottle of water ever
[15:28]<@Mulreay> Just an FYI Tux2 I'm still having major issues with my PC so can't go on the MC server at the moment.. should be sorted...... soon
[16:11]<+Tux2> gotcha Mulreay
[16:13]<+Tux2> Probably doesn't help spilling a whole 2 liters for water all over the floor huh/
[16:13]<+Tux2> of*

[22:37]<+Craig> Hey Mulreay and Tux2
[22:38]<+Tux2> hey Craig
[22:38]<+Craig> I really dislike how complex Mod_rewrite is...
[22:38]<+Tux2> lol
[22:40]<+Craig> It would seem that the only tool that is simple for making these changes quickly is Nginx
[22:44]<+Tux2> yeah, nginx is nice for that sort of thing.
[22:44]<+Craig> But it doesnt seem to work the way that apache does...
[22:45]<+Craig> I just dont know how to throw a domain request from one server to another through apache,
[22:45]<+Craig> I can do it in a sinch on Nginx.

[23:04]<@BC_Programming> touch and go
[23:04]<+Craig> Ahh
[23:05]<+Craig> Thats alright I suppose, atleast your surviving.
[23:05]<@BC_Programming> I did manage to get a few good freelance jobs after that first guy buggered off
[23:07]<@BC_Programming> few $'s here and there... should be able to get a "regular" job in April, figure Canadian Tire is at least a bit better than Timmy's, and I know the assistant Manager
[23:07]<+Craig> What about trying OnForce, you could go under my company name
[23:07]<+Craig> you can get contract work that pays quite well.
[23:08]<@BC_Programming> OnForce?
[23:08]<+Craig> http://www.onforce.com/
[23:08]<@BC_Programming> K will have a look see
[23:08]<@BC_Programming> I like my feedback on freelancer though: http://www.freelancer.com/users/feedback_3097669.html?category=15,106
[23:09]<+Craig> Thats awesome!
[23:09]<+Craig> https://canada.onforce.com/servicepro/133655
[23:10]<@BC_Programming> yeah he says he's working on a pretty big project and isn't very good with C# yet so he'll probably need me in the future
[23:11]<@BC_Programming> I'm already doing a second project for him in fact
[23:11]<+Craig> Thats awesome!
[23:11]<@BC_Programming> yeah I figure if I can get a "normal" job, just to make sure there is a stable income, I can make some nice extra money through freelancing like that
[23:12]<@BC_Programming> I just wouldn't want to have to try to make everything from it... too much uncertainty
[23:13]<@BC_Programming> "Peoples" I think you mentioned that before, did you?
[23:13]<@BC_Programming> is that the jewelry store, I can't remember
[23:15]<@BC_Programming> oh and I thought it was incredibly hilarious timing that my laptops hard drive pretty much failed a few days ago
[23:15]<@BC_Programming> swapped in a hard drive from a PS3 so it's still functional at least :)
[23:17]<+Craig> Yeah I was doing some contract work for them through OnForce. :) It payed well!@ :)
[23:19]<@BC_Programming> OH! I remember that one, haha
[23:19]<+Craig> How so, this was on Tuesday? :P
[23:19]<+Craig> Your thinking Smart Source, they are from the states and got me a crap tonne of money
[23:19]<@BC_Programming> I must be thinking of something else, I guess
[23:20]<+Craig> No worries, I know what your thinking of. :)
[23:20]<@BC_Programming> ahh
[23:20]<@BC_Programming> that might have been it
[23:21]<@BC_Programming> will be nice when I can finally get a proper net connection and get back into Minecraft
[23:21]<+Craig> Yeah
[23:22]<@BC_Programming> I connected to tux's server a few weeks ago using my laptop and a wireless, wandered around, fell in a hole and was killed by a spider
[23:22]<+Craig> Yeouch
[23:22]<@BC_Programming> good times
[23:23]<+Craig> :P
[23:23]<@BC_Programming> laptop is a tad too slow for playing minecraft, heh
[23:23]<+Tux2> Hey BC_Programming!
[23:23]<+Tux2> Good to see you!
[23:23]<+Craig> :P
[23:23]<@BC_Programming> Hi Tux2 :)
[23:24]<+Craig> Why not bridge your Laptop to your Tower.
[23:26] * sonicrules1234 (sonicrules@mib-C85D36DD.dhcp.lnbh.ca.charter.com) Quit (Quit: Leaving)
[23:26]<@BC_Programming> This new tool he wants is pretty much a clone of WinDiff or GnuDiff... I've already finished it, lol
[23:26]<@BC_Programming> I'll probably make it a separate application and put it on my site as well if he's OK with it, he just wants it to embed in his database program
[23:27]<@BC_Programming> Craig: tried that before, didn't work very well
[23:27]<@BC_Programming> that was with Mint 10, and I'm on Mint 12, and it looks easier
[23:28]<@BC_Programming> but the connection is Poor signal and not very reliable, and there isn't really a great reason to connect my desktop anyway
[23:31]<+Craig> Hmmm, well Windows XP seemed to do it the best for me out of all the windows versions, but Win 7 has not cooperated with me yet. :PP
[23:31]<@BC_Programming> I had it working with the old HD when Windows 7 used to boot on it
[23:32]<@BC_Programming> now Windows 7 won't boot at all, instead I get a blank screen and a most unpleasant screeching sound from the hard drive
[23:32]<@BC_Programming> it still boots to Mint 10 but I don't trust it
[23:32]<+Craig> Interesting
[23:33]<@BC_Programming> good thing there was a broken PS3 I could harvest organs from
[23:40]<@BC_Programming> Anyway, I'm finding Mint 12 to be epic too
[23:42]<@BC_Programming> heh.. assuming I'd still be able to get to the elite world in MC I bet there will be people going "who the F is that"
[23:47]<+Craig> heh
[23:48]<@BC_Programming> "Are you new?"
[23:48]<@BC_Programming> lol
[23:50]<+Craig> hahahah yeah
